1. Raiding
1.1 Signing up
- Signups are done through the ingame calendar. You can access it in the top right corner of your screen or via the command /calendar.
- Raids will be setup in the calendar at least a week in advance, generally more.
- As soon as possible you must either accept or decline the invitation, so we know what to expect.
- The Field Officers will confirm their members the day before the raid, so to get a spot you will have to have replied by this time, though preferable at the raid before.
- The Field Officers decide who gets spots.
- If you might be late or if something comes in the way, make sure to notify your FO.
- Same goes for if you need to leave early or may need to be AFK for a longer period of time (>5min) during the raid.
- There are many ways to contact the officers, ingame mail, /w, the forum – either via private message or making a thread in the general chat.
Confirmed for a raid
- If you are confirmed for a raid you are expected to show up before 19.15 for your invite, and be in the instance before raidstart at 19.30.
- If you're late, between 19.15 and 19.30 you will loose 50 DKP.
- If you show up after 19.30 or not at all you will loose 200 DKP.
Standby for a raid
- If you are on stanby for a raid you are expected to show up latest at 19.15 to see if you are needed.
- You should always stay online until the raid is full, so you know you are not needed.
- If you show up after 19.30 or not at all you will loose 200 DKP.
Accepted Standby players for a raid
- Your Field Officer asks you if you wish to be accepted standby.
- Being accepted standby means you are able to join the raid at any time during that evening.
- You will be awarded the full amount of DKP the rest of the raid is earning.
- You must be within the instance and ready in 5 minutes after being called upon.
- You must be reachable on your main, an alt, in Ventrilo or another way that you have agreed upon with your FO.
- If you don't respond, show up or fail to be inside the instance in time, you will receive a -200DKP.
1.2 Looting
- Within raids loot will drop and this loot we distribute using a DKP system, of which you can read more in a later chapter.
- The rules of this system must be followed. We bid for the items in the raid chat. The Master Looter will announce in raid warning which item is being bid for and the bidding will commence until all but one have passed or a reasonable amount of time has passed with no overbidding. The looters remain at the boss while bidding, and do not leave until they no longer bid for any items.
- In some instances you will find mineral nodes, e.g. mining deposits and herbs. These will be looted by officers or designated people, if no officer has the gathering profession, and then deposited in the Guild Bank for later use.
1.3 Raid duration
- Lords of Ironhearts raids 4 days a week, Thursday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The raiding times of all 4 days are the same.
- We start the invites at 19.00 server time. You are expected to be online between 19.00 and 19.15 to receive your invite.
- If you are not online by 19.15, and have not given a message of it to your FO or another officer, you may loose your raid spot.
- If this happens frequently it may affect your position in the guild.
- After 19.15 we invite the people who are on standby, if not all the confirmed have shown up.
- As soon as you get an invite, start moving to the instance. Don't wait around for a summon.
- We issue a break during the raid. Use the time to get off of your chair, get a smoke, something to drink or what ever you might need. This will usually be between 21.00 and 21.30.
- The raid will end at approximately 23.00, but may sometimes end earlier if all is cleared, or later if it may be needed.
1.4 Preparation
- Before you join a raid there are some things you need to do.
- You must be in your class/field channels – any specific information from your FO's will be given here.
- You must be in the Raid-channel in Ventrilo and able to hear what is being said.
- You should have read the tactics of the bosses, which will be encountered that evening. These can be found on the forum and on several websites (Suggested website: www.bosskillers.com).
- You need to have your supplies in order:
- Bring flasks or battle- & guardian-elixirs enough for 3.5 hours of raiding.
- Spell/buff reagents and ammunition to last the entire raid.
- Buff food and/or feasts. Some feasts may be put up during the raid, but if your own food is better this should be used. Also do not expect a feast, so make sure to have your own as well.
- Mana & Health potions.
- Money for repairs, full repairs are not covered by the Guild Bank. Some ranks receive grants for repairs.
1.5 Away from keyboard
During raids going AFK may be needed, but there are rules to follow in such chases:
- Do not go AFK without saying. A /w to a Field Officer or a BRB in the raid chat is enough.
- If you need to be AFK for a longer period of time during the raid, contact your FO before joining the raid.
- Being AFK for longer than 5 minutes without informing your FO may result in raid-removal.
- We offer a 5 minute break between 21.00 and 21.30 each raid.
- When we are at a boss, don’t go AFK at all – unless it’s really needed. We can do trash with 24, not bosses.
1.6 Behaviour
- Your Raid Leader and Field Officers give orders and instructions, respect these. If things are unclear to you, don’t hesitate to ask your Field Officer.
- If you don’t agree, have a remark or suggestion towards one of the leaders, don’t be afraid, there’s always room for your suggestions – but keep it in whispers, to prevent causing confusion in the raid.
- Do not disturb the raid with non-stop nonsense chat, know where the line is. This does not mean raid chat only, but also goes for Ventrilo and guild chat. Chitchat may actually be annoying or disturbing to other raiders, who try to stay focussed during the raid.
- If you continuously disturb or disrupt the raid you may be removed or loose DKP. This is up to your Field Officers and they will warn you in advance. This goes for holding up the raid by never running back, not bringing your consumables and therefore lowering the raid performance, if you continuously fail on the same things at the same boss and thereby cause a lot of wiping, going AFK during the raid without any notice, repeated disconnects during the raid. The system includes, butt is not limited to these wrongdoings.
- Wiping is a part of this game. Accept it and take it in a positive way – try to see the progress between tries. Don't start wining if we wipe a lot; instead try to help with input on what went wrong.
1.7 Achievements/Hard modes
- Hard modes are a part of Ulduar and needed to unlock the last boss: Algalon the Observer.
- We will be attempting hard modes when ever the raid setup is suited for it. So be ready to give it your all and to wipe on these attempts. It is counted as progress so everyone needs to pitch in with their best efforts.
The needed hard modes for Algalon are:
- Iron Council: I Choose You, Steelbreaker / Molgeim (To get the quests for the other hard modes)
- Hodir: I Could Say That This Cache was Rare
- Thorim: Loose Your Illusion
- Freya: Knock, Knock, Knock on Wood
- Mimiron: Firefighter
- Make sure you know the fights, what the difference is from normal and what might be expected from your class.
- Other hard modes not needed for Algalon will also be attempted, if we have time and setup for it.
1.8 Dual specs in raids
- Dual specs are a reality, and as such we should also make sure to use them if needed. Therefore it will now be possible to be a Dual Spec player in the raids. This does have some regulations and some demands.
- You must ask your FO and the FO of the field your DS belongs to, if a DS is needed.
- If you are asked to Dual Spec during a raid, it is expected that you do it – we need to be able to count on this option.
- Gear and skill as DS will be evaluated before accepting someone as a DS player.
- Your accepted DS will have a higher loot priority than normal Off specs, as this spec is useful to the guild during raids.
2. DKP
2.1 Earning
- You earn DKP during raids. The ways you earn them are by killing bosses and trying out new bosses.
- A kill of a boss will provide everyone present at the kill 25DKP
- A guild-first kill of a boss will provide everyone present at the kill 50DKP
- A final or outdoor boss kill (e.g. Malygos or Yogg'Saron) will provide everyone present at the kill an extra 25DKP
- Wiping an entire evening will provide everyone in the raid 100 DKP
- Wiping half an evening will provide everyone in the raid 50 DKP (~1.5 hour counts as half an evening)
2.2 Bidding
- DKP are spent in raids on items dropped from the bosses.
- This means you earn the DKP from the bosses and then spend them on the gear that drops.
- We use a bidding system to distribute them.
- When bidding, you must remain at the boss, until you either pass, or receive the item. This is for tracking purposes, as an item won't be tracked if the looter is out of range.
- Bidding will commence when the Master Looter announces it in raid warning e.g. “[Item link] Start bidding”.
- Minimum bid is 50 DKP. You can always bid the minimum, even when you are new.
- When bidding begins, you should immediately write your bid in the /ra chat. The highest bid is the counting one, and the person to bid that first is the one in the lead.
- If you wish to pay more than what the lead bidder has said, you simply bid what you wish to pay. It's allowed to bid continuously.
- New bids are raised by at least 10 or an amount dividable by 10, e.g. 20, 50 or 100.
- You should always know how much DKP you have, since you're not allowed to bid more than you have, except when bidding the minimum.
- You can use your Hidden DKP to bid.
- There is no maximum of how much you can bid, except that it must max be the amount you have.
- When the bidding ends the Master Looter will say “Grats *name*” in a raid warning. When this is done, bidding has ended and any bids done after this moment will not count.
- If no one wants the loot it will be given to an enchanter who will then disenchant it and deposit the materials in the Guild Bank.
2.3 Hidden DKP
- A boss kill will grant you XX DKP, which will be added to your DKP pool on our DKP page after the raid.
- If you killed a boss earlier the evening, the DKP will be not added to your DKP pool yet. Though, you can use this DKP in your bids.
Example:
- [Player A] has a DKP pool of 1000, according to the DKP page. At the end of the evening, five bosses have been killed.
- [Player A] wants an item that dropped from the fifth boss. The maximum amount of DKP he can bid is 1000 + (5 x 25 DKP) = 1125 DKP.
- NOTE: You'll have to calculate and work with the hidden DKP. Keep in mind that you have to subtract the (hidden) DKP you may have spent earlier the evening.
2.4 Minus DKP
- You can loose your DKP as a punishment for different things.
- If you are confirmed and not online at 19.15 latest, you will loose 50 DKP.
- If you are confirmed or on standby and don't show up before 19.30 or not at all, you will loose 200 DKP.
- If you are accepted standby and fail to respond, show up or be inside the instance in time, you will loose 200 DKP.
- If you misbehave or disrupt raids continuously, you will loose 200 DKP.
- If you remove yourself from the raid on the raid day, while confirmed, you will loose DKP. No valid excuses.
2.5 Special Rules
2.5.1 Loot Priority
There are a few priorities on the loot, depending on how it will benefit the guild the most:
- Main specs have highest priority.
- Dual specs have second priority.
- Alts, that join raids to help, have third priority.
- Off specs have third priority.
- Resting Lords, that join raids to help, have third priority.
- Armor-type priority counts towards your class' maximum armor-type, e.g. Rogues & Druid have priority on leather items.
Also some other priority rules apply:
- Spell casters have priority over healers on gear with hit.
- Hunters have priority on guns/bows/crossbows (with the exception of those with tank-stats) etc.
2.5.2 Trash Drops
- Green and blue items dropping from trash mobs will be DE'd and the materials will be deposited in the Guild Bank.
- Epic items will be distributed using the normal bidding system. The Master Looter may pick up the item and continue with clearing while people are bidding and then trade the item to the winner after to save time.
- Epic bind on equip items no one wants will be deposited in the Guild Bank for a short time before being put on the Auction House. If you are interested in it contact an Officer.
- Green patterns will be free roll between any in the raid who can use it. The Master Looter will say when you can start rolling. The highest roller wins.
- Epic patterns are free. First time the pattern drops it will be given to the guild-crafter of that profession – this will usually be an officer. The reason for this is to make sure the pattern is kept in the guild and available to the members as much as possible. When all officers with this profession have the pattern it will be up for free roll between any in the raid able to use it. Having the profession and the required skill is a must.
2.5.3 Double Token Distribution
On some bosses 2 tier-tokens drop. Sometimes this will be the same token. When this happens a special rule applies.
- The items will both be up for bidding at the same time.
- The 2 highest bidders will receive the items to the second highest price.
Example:
- Player A bids 100 DKP, Player B bids 150 DKP. In this situation, both players win and they pay 100 DKP each.
- If Player C decides to bid as well, he must outbid the lower of the 2, Player A. He bids 110 DKP. Now B and C are the winners and they pay 110 DKP each.
- You can of course outbid both players B and C by bidding above 150 DKP.
- You cannot bid the same amount as another player has already bid.
2.5.4 Mounts
Sometimes mounts drop off the bosses in raids. These mounts are rolled for in the raid.
- You must have the rank of Soldier or above to roll.
- You must be willing to and have 300 DKP to pay for the mount, if you should win.
- The highest roller will win the mount.
2.5.5 Resources
Some instances have resoursces such as Mines and Herbs.
- You are not allowed to take them.
- An officer with the profession or someone appointed by the officers will gather them and deposit them in the Guild Bank.
2.5.5 Strike system
If you get one strike, you're warned.
If you get two strikes, you receive -50 DKP.
If you get three strike, you receive -100 DKP, and you'll be replaced in that raid, also forfeiting gained DKP for the evening.
You get strikes if you fail. Failing includes (but is not limited to):
* Not flasking at bosses.
* Not running back when dying on trash.
* Going afk for noticable time without ok'ing it with an officer.
* Not being on time. Both to start the raid and after breaks.
* Obviously not knowing a boss fight. If you're unsure on what do to, you fail if you press 'yes' on the readycheck.
* Obviously not listening on vent.
* Pug and get saved in the instances we raid.
Strikes will be announced in raid and with whispers.
And yes, if you fail hard enough you can get several strikes at once. Remember, we're not trying to punish for the sake of looking mean, we're trying to force you learn to do it right. So, we don't want you to be afraid of doing anything for the fear of strikes. Do your best, don't slack, and you won't get any strikes.
And, break until 21:20 means you're online, at the boss, at 21:20, not that you're online outside the instance at 21:20. If you're going away to fetch something, it's your responsibility to arrange with a summon with a warlock _before_ you go away, you don't start asking for summon in raidchat at 21:20.
2.5.5 Resources
Some instances have resoursces such as Mines and Herbs.
- You are not allowed to take them.
- An officer with the profession or someone appointed by the officers will gather them and deposit them in the Guild Bank.
3. Ranks & Fields

3.2 Field Officers
Your Field Officer is your contact(wo)man. For questions, suggestions or remarks, your Field Officer should be the first one to contact.
Some examples:
- Going AFK during a raid, being inactive for a couple of days, having problems with someone or something in the guild, questions about your raid spots / loot / DKP / anything, contact your Field Officer. Also during raids, speak with your Field Officers if you have something to say, instead of whispering the Raid Leader.
- If your own officers aren't online, you can always contact any of the other officers.
- If you have problems with you FO you can always contact another officer or the Guild Master.
- Field Officers are responsible for recruitment, activity, performance and behaviour of its Field members.
3.3 Ranks
Lords of Ironhearts has two divisions within the ranking system: raiders and non-raiders.
The raiders are ranked as Recruit, Soldier, Raider, Knight, Veteran and Field Officers/Guild Master.
The non-raiders are ranked as Alt or Resting Lord.
3.3.1 Alt
- You are allowed to have one alt in the guild if you are Soldier or above. Alts are not supposed to participate in any of the scheduled raids.
3.3.2 Resting Lord
- This is our guild’s social / inactive rank. Resting Lords are not supposed to participate in any of the scheduled raids.
- You will be there for social reasons or because you have become inactive for some time. Resting Lords are both old players who have become inactive and friends of people in the guild. You can have a social player (friend/family) in the guild if you are Soldier or above.
- If you go Resting Lord for longer periods in the guild your DKP will be wiped after 3 months without raiding, meaning when your Last 90 days activity goes to 0% you loose what you've earned so far. It will not be refunded when you return to raiding.
3.3.3 Recruit
- You are new in the guild. This is seen as a trial phase. Within 2 weeks after getting your guild invitation, you will get feedback from your Field Officer and you will talk about your rank and what will happen. You may be promoted to Soldier, if your officer finds that you have passed your trial, you can also be asked to leave, if you haven't lived up to what the officer expected from you. In some cases your trial may be extended if your officer thinks you deserve another chance to prove yourself as a useful raider.
3.3.4 Soldier
- You have passed your trial phase and may stay in the guild. If you are active enough and perform well in raids, you can expect a promotion to Raider soon. If you are not very active, you will probably stick to this rank.
- Back-up players will stay on the Soldier rank as well.
3.3.5 Raider
- You proved to be active and performed well in raids.
- This rank gives 25% Guild Bank rank-discount.
3.3.6 Knight
- You are a very active raider and you showed your dedication and skills during our raids.
- You know how to play your class well and you're involved with stuff going on in the guild.
- This rank gives 50% Guild Bank rank-discount and the Guild Bank covers some of your repair costs (10g pr raid)!
3.3.7 Veteran
- You've been with us for a long time and are very active on raids.
- Also you are very skilled and are ready to take over the Field Officer’s position, if it's needed.
- You do the utmost to improve your gear and performance. This is the highest member rank available.
- This rank gives 50% Guild Bank rank-discount, and the Guild Bank covers some of your repair costs (20g pr raid)!
3.3.8 Field Officer/Guild Master
- These are the officer ranks.
- You are dedicated to raiding and making the guild run as smoothly as possible.
- You have different responsibilities within the guild and participate in many raids as well and the general management of the guild.
- This rank gives 50% Guild Bank rank-discount, and the Guild Bank covers your repair costs.
3.4 Gaining Rank
To get promoted you should make sure your Field Officer is satisfied with:
- Your activity.
- Your behaviour. (Both in- and outside raids)
- Your performance in raids. (Skills, damage/healing meters, understanding of boss tactics)
- The way you handle given orders and instructions.
- Improvements made (skills/talents/gear/enchants/gems).
3.5 Loosing Rank
- There are a few reasons for loosing ranks.
- You can ask to be demoted if you become inactive or less active so it no longer fits the rank you have. E.g. a knight who stops raiding all together will be demoted to Resting Lord.
- You can also loose a rank if you do not live up to the expectations connected with your current rank, e.g. if you don't perform well in raids as a raider you can be demoted to soldier.
4. Guild Bank
4.1 Using the Bank
- Depending on your rank in the guild, you will have access to different parts of the Guild Bank. Using the bank comes with some responsibility. The fact that you have access to a certain item does not mean you can just take it.
- The intention with access to the Guild Bank is to make sure people have a cheaper and easier alternative to the Auction House. It is a way to help our members improve/prepare for raids at a lower cost.
- This means that the materials/consumables in the Guild Bank are primarily for raiding. Prices for most items can be found in the Info-tab in the bank itself.
- If you are interested in something specific in the bank and you don't know if you are allowed to take it or you are not able to, please contact an officer, whom will then help you.
4.2 Rights
The Guild Bank can assist you with getting enchanting materials for enchants. In order to buy enchanting materials, there are two requirements:
- Your guild rank is Soldier or higher.
- Your enchant is meant for PvE raiding purposes.
- The epic patterns/plans in the Guild Bank are supposed to go to main character, not to your alt (there may be exceptions, depending on the amount of patterns/plans available).
- Epic or rare items can be bought from the Guild Bank upon request. These items will be put on the AH if no one is interested. The item will stay in the Guild Bank for a couple of days and will then be sold on AH.
- Contact an Officer if you want something, he/she will check the Guild Bank for you and possibly give/sell it to you.
4.3 Prices
- The prices of our Guild Bank items (rare/epic items, gems, enchanting supplies, etc.) are based on 50% of the Auction House price. Please do not abuse this feature!
- Depending on your rank, you can get an additional Guild Bank discount. The list is as following:
- Soldier: 0% discount
- Raider: 25% discount
- Knight: 50% discount
- Veteran: 50% discount
- This discount is applied on all items.
5. Addons/Programs
5.1 Deadly Boss Mods
The
DBM addon shows you boss-specific warnings during encounters. This add-on is a must-have when you are raiding. You can find and download this addon on
http://wow.curse.com/.
5.2 Omen
Omen is one of the more important addons you will need while raiding. It's a simple meter which shows the amount of threat generated from you and your fellow raiders. You can find and download this addon on
http://wow.curse.com/.
5.3 Ventrilo
For communicating with each other during raids, we use the software program called
Ventrilo.
- Go to
www.ventrilo.com, select ‘Download’ in the left menu.
- Click the link corresponding your operating system (Version number above 3.0.0) and follow instructions.
- When done with installing, start Ventrilo.
- Create a User account (note: use your in-game character name as Username).
- Fill in the Server information according to the Guild Information, then press ‘Connect’.
To prevent unwanted usage of Lords of Ironhearts' own Ventrilo server, our Ventrilo information will not be shown on this website. You can find our server’s information in the (in-game) Guild Information (Open Social Panel by pressing “O”, choose the Guild tab, and then Guild Information).
You are allowed to bring friends into Ventrilo, there are channels for this, but they may only use it together with someone from the guild.
If unknown people are found in Ventrilo which are not in company with a guildie they will be kicked.
You will first be marked as ‘Guest’ in our Ventrilo server, this means you will not have access to join all channels. To get an account upgrade, contact an Officer.
6. Forum
6.1 Using the Forum
- We use the forum for all information.
- The rules are found on the website, same with the DKP.
- In the forum you will find many useful topics, like boss tactics, discussions about talents for different classes and much, much more.
- Announcements from the Council will be posted here. To see all this information, you will need a forum account.
- Most of the forum is hidden from the public; these are the parts that only concern the members. Only people in the guild can see them.
- When posting on the forum, try to keep it to a minimum of creating new posts. Check if any old posts are about the same subject and use them.
- The Announcement part of the forum is where the officers will post things important to the guild, make sure to read anything posted here.
- Check the forum often, info posted here might contain information you need to know.
- You can also use the forum for contacting the officers if you can’t get online.
6.2 Creating an Account
- Go to www.lordsofironhearts.com, click on: No account yet? ‘Register’ (menu right side) and fill in the requested information.
- Click ‘send registration’.
- Go to the inbox of your declared e-mail address (note: it might be sent to your Junk folder).
- Click the link in the e-mail you received from LoIH to activate your account.
- Login (username & password are shown in the e-mail) and select ‘Forum’ in the menu on top.
6.3 Rights
Newly registered members will only see 4 sub-forums. This is because the rest is hidden until you have been accepted into the guild and your rights have been upgraded.
So therefore it is asked of you that as soon as you've been invited to the guild, have activated your forum account and been logged into it at least once, contact Zandjil, or one of your FO's.
Your account name should be your ingame name. You can contact us either ingame by /w or mail or on the forum via PM. You will then be upgraded and able to see the rest of the sub-forums.
